According to a LinkedIn post by Mari Khurtsidze, Head of Tax and Customs Policy at the Georgian Ministry of Finance, officials from Georgia and Montenegro began negotiations for an income tax treaty on 20 September 2023. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
