According to a release from Sri Lanka's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from Hungary and Sri Lanka met on 12 January 2022 to discuss bilateral relations, including their interest in the early conclusion of an income tax treaty. The treaty will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
