On 26 June 2025, the Montenegro government published a report on the results of negotiations for an income and capital tax treaty with Iceland. According to the report, negotiations were held from 3 to 5 June 2025, with agreement reached on all articles. The treaty will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
