Tax Treaty between Japan and Uruguay to be Signed

On 9 September 2019, Uruguayan President Tabaré Vázquez authorized the Minister of Economy and Finance to sign an income tax treaty with Japan. Officials from the two sides concluded negotiations for the treaty on 19 April 2019. The treaty will be the first of its if its kind between the two countries and must be signed and ratified before entering into force.
