The income tax treaty between Malaysia and Ukraine entered into force on 29 December 2021. The treaty, signed 4 August 2016, is the first of its kind directly between the two countries. Ukraine had generally continued to apply the 1987 tax treaty between Malaysia and the former Soviet Union, although Malaysia's application was uncertain.
