Officials from Micronesia and Vietnam met on 5 June 2018 to discuss bilateral relations, including the negotiation of an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries, and the first with any country for Micronesia, and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
