According to an announcement by the British Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates on 1 December 2014, the U.K. is seeking to negotiate an income tax treaty with the U.A.E. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries, and must be finalized, signed and ratified before entering into force.
