A treaty protocol has been signed to amend the tax treaty between Canada and Belgium. The protocol amends the exchange of information article in the treaty to bring it in line with OECD standards.
When the domestic procedures required to bring this Protocol into force are completed by both countries, the protocol will apply retroactively from January 1st, 2006, for criminal tax matters, and from January 1st 2013, for all other tax matters.
