Treaty between Canada and Malaysia – negotiations to start

On 20 October 2006, the Canadian Ministry of Finance announced that negotiations for a new income tax treaty between Canada and Malaysia will be held during the week of 6 November 2006. Once signed and in force, the new treaty will replace the Canada-Malaysia income tax treaty of 15 October 1976. Further details will be reported subsequently.
