Treaty between Peru and Spain – negative legal opinion from Congress's Foreign Affairs Commission

In 2007, the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Peruvian National Congress issued a negative legal opinion in respect of the first-time income and capital tax treaty and protocol between Peru and Spain signed on 6 April 2006. A legal opinion from the Commission for the Economy is still pending. In the event of a positive legal opinion from the latter Commission, the National Congress could still approve the treaty.
