The Foreign Relations Committee of the US Senate held hearings on 2 February 2006. The US Deputy International Tax Counsel testified that treaty negotiations (i) are currently being held with Canada, Chile, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Korea, and Norway; (ii) are beginning with Bulgaria; and (iii) are substantially completed with Denmark and Finland. She also stated that informal exploratory discussions are being held with several countries in Asia.
