On 14 December 2022, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed the decision for the ratification of the administrative arrangement for the implementation of the pending social security agreement with Iran. The agreement, signed 16 April 2016, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force on the first day of the month after the ratification instruments are exchanged. The administrative arrangement, signed 19 July 2022, will enter into force on the same date.
