On 27 November 2017, the United Arab Emirates Federal Tax Authority (FTA) announced the signing of the Executive Regulation for the Federal Decree-Law No. (8) of 2017 on Value Added Tax (VAT) ({News-2017-08-30/A/4-previous coverage}). The VAT regime goes into effect on 1 January 2018, with a standard VAT rate of 5%. The Executive Regulation covers all aspects of the regime.
