On 13 September 2023, the UAE hosted a regional forum on the Pillar 2 Global Minimum Tax (GMT) together with the OECD. During the forum, the UAE reportedly confirmed that the country will not be implementing the GMT in 2024. Instead, the government is planning to begin consultations in the first quarter of 2024 on the implementation of the GMT in the future. Further details will be published once available.
