UK HMRC has launched a technical consultation on draft primary legislation for the carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM) that is to take effect from 1 January 2027. Along with the draft legislation, HMRC has also published a CBAM policy update that provides an overview of the scope and design of the CBAM. The consultation closes at 11:59 pm on 3 July 2025.
