UK HM Treasury has issued a release announcing the roll out of 40% business rates relief for film studios on 17 February 2025, which will be available until 2034 and, where applicable, be backdated to 1 April 2024. The release also notes that from 1 April 2025, film and high-end TV companies may claim a credit of 39% on their UK visual effects costs, with eligible films with budgets of under GBP 15 million able to claim an enhanced 53% rate, known as the Independent Film Tax Credit.
