According to British newspaper the Guardian, UK HM Treasury has denied a recent report by the Daily Mail that Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak is considering abolishing the Digital Services Tax (DST) in order to appease the U.S. in ongoing trade talks. The DST was recently approved as part of the Finance Act 2020 and applies from 1 April 2020 at a rate of 2% on digital services revenues attributable to UK users ({News-2020-07-29/A/9-previous coverage}).
