The Foreign Relations Committee of the US Senate held hearings on 2 February 2006 on the protocol to the income tax treaty between Sweden and the United States, which was signed on 30 September 2005. The Senate hearings are expected to lead to the US ratification of the protocol.
On the same date as the Senate committee hearings, the US Treasury Department released the text of the US Technical Explanations of the above protocol.
