U.S. IRS Publishes Draft Form 1040 for 2018

The U.S. IRS has announced the release of the draft Form 1040 for the 2019 filing season (2018 tax year). The draft 1040, which is about half the size of the current form, would replace the current Form 1040, as well as the Form 1040A and the Form 1040EZ.  Although simplified, individuals filing Form 1040 will still need to include relevant schedules as needed. The new Form 1040 will be finalized over the summer.
