The U.S. IRS has announced the issuance of proposed regulations that provide Guidance Regarding Certain Matters Relating to Nonrecognition of Gain or Loss in Corporate Separations, Incorporations, and Reorganizations, as well as Multi-Year Reporting Requirements for Corporate Separations and Related Transactions. The proposed regulations were published in the Federal Register on 16 January 2025 and are to generally apply after the date the final versions are published.
