On 6 September 2019, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers approved for ratification the pending protocol to the 1996 income and capital tax treaty with Turkey. The protocol, signed 9 October 2017 ({News-2018-07-25/T/4-previous coverage}), is the first to amend the treaty and will enter into force on the last day of the month following the month the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
