According to a release published on the Kyrgyzstan president's website on 24 October 2019, the president has signed the law for the ratification of the pending income tax treaty with Turkmenistan. The treaty, signed 23 August 2018, is the first of its kind between the two countries.

The treaty covers Kyrgyz and Turkmen tax on profits (income) of legal entities and income tax on individuals.
