On 6 December 2022, the Uruguay Chamber of Senators (upper house of parliament) approved the ratification of the pending income and capital tax treaty with Colombia. The treaty, signed 19 November 2021, is the first of its kind between the two countries.
Taxes Covered
The treaty covers Colombian income tax and its complementary taxes, and covers Uruguayan income tax on economic activities, personal income tax, non-resident income tax, social security assistance tax, and wealth tax.
