On 10 September 2019, Uruguay's Chamber of Representatives (lower house of General Assembly) approved the bill for the ratification of the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (MLI), which Uruguay signed on 7 June 2017. After the internal ratification process is completed, Uruguay must deposit its ratification instrument to bring the MLI into force for its covered agreements (tax treaties).
