On 11 September 2024, Uruguay's Chamber of Representatives (lower house of General Assembly) approved the ratification of the pending tax information exchange agreement with the United States. The agreement, signed 24 October 2023, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
