Vietnam Looking to Conclude SSA with Japan

According to a release from Vietnam's Ministry of Labour, officials from Japan and Vietnam met on 15 August 2024 to discuss bilateral cooperation, with Minister Dao Ngoc Dung suggesting that the two sides speed up the process of signing and bringing into effect of a social security agreement. Any resulting agreement would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
