Officials from Botswana and Vietnam reportedly met on 26 August 2019 to discuss bilateral issues, including Vietnam's interest in the negotiation and signing of an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and would need to be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
